Hosting a seminar at EscapeTartu

Training courses

Together with the training centre of Tartu Kutsehariduskeskus (Tartu Vocational College), EscapeTartu offers companies two different team training courses. Both are fun, interactive courses that educate and motivate your employees at the same time. Afterwards you can put what you have learned into practice with your colleagues – both in our escape rooms and in your own business.

Group processes in a team (2 h)

Course content:

• a short introduction to the 5-phase model of group processes;
• the forming phase (clarifying goals, setting rules, dividing roles, a leader emerging);
• the conflict and confusion phase (disagreements over the importance of goals, the division of tasks and roles becoming fixed);
• the adjustment phase (things settle down, differences are accepted, compromises are made);
• the working phase (roles have been embraced, goals are linked to personal goals);
• the cooperation phase (working with other groups to make the work more effective, openness, closing);
• a movement practice in which the previous part is worked through with guided movements (14 different movements) and the group splits in two. There are movers and observers; everyone gets to try both roles and learns to notice, through movement, the processes taking place in the group;
• an analysis of the characteristics of strong and weak teams (team climate, goals and tasks, communication, disagreements, leadership, self-criticism).

By the end of the course the participant:

• understands what the 5-phase group processes involve;
• can notice themselves and others within the team’s group processes;
• adapts to changes in the team and helps others adapt.

Team roles (2 h)

Course content:

• an individual test on Belbin’s 9 team roles, giving each participant an overview of their one main role and two secondary roles, as well as the lowest-scoring role, which suits them least. With this knowledge you can steer your own work in the team better, notice what other team members are doing, reach better-founded agreements in the team based on the strengths of your own roles – and also become aware of your weaknesses;
• seeing team members’ strengths and knowing how to support them;
• role analysis in groups – the strengths and weaknesses of the team roles (Plant, Co-ordinator, Monitor Evaluator, Implementer, Completer Finisher, Resource Investigator, Shaper, Teamworker, Specialist). The analysis brings team members together, shows how every member can contribute, and brings balance and goodwill into relationships by noticing differences.

By the end of the course the participant:

• understands how Belbin’s 9 team roles affect the team;
• can notice themselves and other team members in their team roles;
• adapts to changes in the team and helps others adapt.

At EscapeTartu you are always welcome to bring your own food and drinks to a seminar. So you can always bring the favourite dishes of your employees and other participants to your corporate event.

Together with our partners, we also offer catering for training courses – whether that’s a tea and coffee table or a multi-course business lunch. Ingredients can always be swapped on request. EscapeTartu also sells a range of drinks and snacks (nuts, chocolate, biscuits) on site to nibble on during your team event.

Extras: science show

You can book a science show to go with your visit to EscapeTartu, put on by our good friends at Kolm Põrsakest!

The science show features flames bursting into life, no shortage of flashes and bangs, and a floor covered in fairy-tale fog. We show grown-ups and little ones alike that science is simply cool!
